Short (Pants) Pattern Making
Pattern making for pants can be challenging for some, but it doesn't have to be overly complicated. In this three-part video series, I will guide you through the step-by-step process of creating your own shorts patterns.
Although I will be focusing on shorts, the techniques I demonstrate can be applied to pants as well. While drafting the shorts patterns, I won't include the sections for the legs, such as the knee and ankle. However, the fundamentals remain the same for both shorts and pants.
In the first video, I will walk you through the creation of the front pattern for the shorts, starting from scratch.

Moving on to the second video, I will show you how to draft the back panel of the pants. You'll gain insights into various essential elements of pant pattern-making, including the back crotch and rise. Additionally, I'll explain the options for adding darts on the back waist, whether you prefer one dart or two. I'll also demonstrate the proper alignment of the crotch and guide you on determining the length of the dart.

To complete your skirts or pants, there are several waist finishing options available. In this video, I will cover each of them, providing comprehensive guidance. Although I will be using the shorts patterns drafted in episodes 62 and 63 as examples, you can apply these techniques to any skirt or pants pattern you have. I will also explain the cutting direction for optimal results.
