PAD_Amplify 'Text" tool on PAD system
On any kind of pattern-making software, you can find a 'Text' tool. It’s very easy to use, and you might think it's not important at all. Besides labeling the patterns like their name, number, date, client name, and so on, sometimes you want to make short notes on the pattern such as zipper, slit, CF, CB, etc. "Text" is a really useful tool to have all the information you want to have.
Maybe the 'Text' tool is not considered a major tool for drafting but I think it's very useful depending on how to use it. I wanted to introduce another way I'm using the 'Text' tool when I work with PAD system.
As a professional pattern maker, we do a lot of fittings. And there are a lot of reasons or situations that cause pattern changes. I can't remember every single thing since I deal with so many styles each season. So I make notes on the pattern file when, why, and what changes I made. Then the pattern has a whole history whenever I need to go back or check with old samples.
